Drive around to complete your missions; pick up your mission and then get to a location by beating the clock. Super Taxi Driver 2006 doesn’t hold up against modern racing games, but it has its charms and may be worth a try if you are a fan of the more popular “Driver” series.
The Music In The Game
What were the developers thinking? They must have thought they were going for a Fast & Furious type of hip hop score in the game, but it comes across as gay club genre. Most of the songs sound like the sort of thing that men in their underwear would dance to in gay clubs. There has been a foolish misfire when it comes to the choice of music.
The Sound Effects
They are over-exaggerated, which again makes you think they are trying to do for a boy-racer type of feel. The gunning engines sound like harrier jets more than they do cars. Every noise in the game sounds like an exaggerated cry for attention.
The Driving And Gameplay
One has to admire the maps in the game. They are not works of art, but they are cleverly set up for players to enjoy the driving element of the game. Barrelling through large, open and almost empty streets and roads is rather rewarding in a game like this. They have also made the skidding effects rather entertaining. It is the sort of skidding that doesn’t get on your nerves or overstep its bounds, but at the same time allows you to skid around corners even if that corner didn’t require or need a skid. It is good for larking around in your car.
How Does It Compare To The Driver Games?
There was a game called Driver and a few sequels, and this game is very similar to those, albeit with a smaller design budget. The Driver games clearly had more money spent on them than this one did, but at least this game does offer a few other things for players. It is not a fantastic game, but it is not one to brush off without giving it a try.
